Peter and the wolf
Peter and the wolf
Meute Monde and Bach Before Bedtime are now teaming up to present a modernized, humorous version of Prokofiev’s classic Peter and the Wolf. This show, featuring five musicians and three puppeteers, aims to democratize classical music, puppetry and theater, offering families a formative and entertaining experience.
Peter and the Wolf tells the story of a boy named Peter who, despite his grandfather’s warnings, decides to capture a wolf prowling near his home. With the help of his animal friends, he manages to capture the wolf and triumphantly brings it back to the village.
Prokofiev’s original work, designed to introduce children to musical instruments, is enriched by a dynamic staging that captivates different age groups. Children aged 9 to 12 appreciate the musical complexity of the composition, while younger children, aged 5 to 8, are fascinated by the story. Toddlers aged 2 to 4, meanwhile, are charmed by the animal puppets.
The puppets were designed to establish a visual correlation between the instruments and the characters, adding an educational and aesthetic dimension to the performance, while making the work accessible and engaging for young audiences.
